At The Law Offices of Jaworski & Giacobbe, our experienced attorneys understand the law and process. We treat each case with the care and compassion we would give our own family, as we understand how important this matter is to you and your family.
In child custody matters, the Court determines custody based on what it believes to be the best interests of the children. Some factors that the courts consider in the child’s “best interests” include, but are not limited to: the wishes of the child, the parenting ability of each parent, the physical and mental health of each parent, and any history of domestic or substance abuse.
Child custody litigation involves where, and with whom a child lives, which can be shared jointly by both parents or granted solely to one parent. Custody litigation also involves a parent’s right to make important decisions about the child’s life such as health, schooling, and religious upbringing to name a few. Custody can be “sole” or “joint.” Custody is always subject to review and modification by the Courts, with the best interest of the children being the guiding principal. Many of our cases are modification of custody arrangements based upon a change in circumstances.
